CAF Visit the Battle of Britain Memorial site at Capel Le Ferne near Folkestone Kent. This magnificent monument and visitor center to the "Few" brave airmen from the RAF who defended the UK against overwhelming odds during the Battle of Britain, sits atop the white cliffs, overlooking the English Channel, towards France. The sculpture of the lone airman, sits looking across the channel, is a very poignant reminder of the sacrifices made during the Battle of Britain, for Britain's freedom. The replica Hurricane and Spitfire on display has recently been joined by a full scale stainless steel sculpture of the crashed Junkers JU87 Stuka. Very interesting to see the size difference of the Stuka compared to the Spitfire and Hurricane.
