When the atomic bombs were dropped Ron came back to the UK. The RAF aircrew were not demobbed until 1947. Ron became a PTI, and served at St Asaph Wales. Ron Returned to Civil life in London and married in 1948 on Derby day.
Ron Lived a long and happy life embracing every opportunity ."
Ron Coveted this print of the B24 Diamond Lil- as it reminded him of his service days in WW2 with the Liberator.
The Print of CAF B24 "Diamond Lil"- when she visited the UK in the 1990's- Lives on to perpetuate Rons Legacy of Service and to fulfil the CAF mission to "Educate-Inspire-Honour", the achievements of the Greatest generation from WW2.
Our thanks to the CAF B29/B24 Squadron for their superb pictures of "Diamond Lils" Gun positions- and to Rons Wife for sharing such a great story and love affair with the B24 Liberator.
