CAF UK Wing exhibited at the "Harborough At War" 2021 Military show. The public show was a large midlands based weekend event at the former Market Harborough airfield. "Harborough At War" was the showcase for several hundred WW2 Living History re-enactment displays and Cold war exhibits.
There was a large array of WW2 and Post war Military Vehicles and Tracked armour at the show.
Standout rare examples included the WW2 US M3 Lee Medium tank, the only operational example in the UK.
The great folks from Military Vehicle Museum - Armourgeddon brought an extensive array of Post war Military vehicles and armour , including the rare Post War Centurion BARV (Beach Armoured Recovery Vehicle)
There were also a handful of Rotary wing aircraft at the event including the Westland WASP and Westland SCOUT versions- Unfortunately poor weather conditions on the Saturday and Sunday and a low clod based curtailed the BBMF flypast.
Entertainment was provided by a whole host of 1940's wartime entertainments, singers and performer's, including swing dance, and the British wartime favourites such as George Formby and Vera Lynn tribute acts. WW2 Personalities were in attendance including members of the WW2 Top Brass impersonators- "Winston Churchill" - (Steve McTigue) ..Field Marshal Allanbrooke -(Stefan Dicks) - - with "Bomber Harris" , and a whole host of other WW2 characters including "Captain Mainwairing- from Dads Army. There were also hundreds of 1940's re-enactors and enthusiasts dressed in period uniform and costume with such diverse portrayals from Army, Navy, Airforce and Marines, from both allied and Axis forces of WW2 along with a host of home front impressions.
The arena displays included battle re-enactment and armoured vehicle displays, as well as equestrian military horse displays. In the trade area there was a large number of militaria and army surplus stalls and a large amount of WW2 collectibles and militaria for sale and trade.
CAF UK Wing exhibited our USAF Post war Dodge RAM crew-bus Minibus- which served at Mildenhall and is now preserved as an exhibition vehicle. We also had the CAF UK Wing recruiting stand in attendance, to promote the mission of the CAF amongst the WW2 enthusiasts.
